Daily Dose of Abramoff
Conrad Burns, R-Montana, did about-face after receiving cash from uber-lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Okay, Byron Dorgan D-North Dakota, is close to being the token Democrat ensnared in the Abramoff web. So be it. Problem is, Dorgan is leading the Senate investigation into Jack Abramoff's Indian lobbying. Oops.
And now back to Republicans: I live in California but had never heard of Richard Pombo, R-Tracy. Well, now we all have.
Rep. Jerry Weller, R-Illinois, had a run-in with Abramoff and failed to report it. Oh, I forgot, he denies it. I'm guessing that when an Illinois Congressman gets a free luxury suite from a California Indian tribe, Jack Abramoff is somewhere in the neighborhood. Will Rep. Weller remember at some point?

Pombo is a complete and utter monster. A lot of folks from your area is going to come out to CA-11 and work against him. There are a number of Democrats in the race to unseat Pombo. You can follow the race at Say No to Pombo.
