Who's governing while Bush is speechifying?

I don't recall a president who has spent more time on the road selling his policies. Where does he develop these policies? Are they emailed to him by his speech writers? When does he have time to attend to the actual duties of state? On Air Force One between speeches?

There's no question the Bushlings have created the permanent political presidency, in which we find ourselves in a constant media brawl, with the president's every word increasingly shaped by PR advisors rather than by the truth.

Doesn't everybody, from red or blue state, notice that Bush is not delivering the honest truth at a time when only the truth will solve the dilemma posed by the Iraq debacle?

Newsweek is on to something when he says Bush is in a bubble. Maybe that's why he looks so disconnected from reality. He's not allowing himself to be very involved in it.
